Cumulus has (finally) started to record a full band EP. It is being recorded and produced by our friend Erik Walters of The Globes. The Fremont Abbey in Seattle has been kind enough to let us track drums in their space, and it is sounding AWESOME. We are recording the same songs that I have already released in acoustic versions, which makes me a little nervous- but we are still working on new material and we really just want to put what we have been working on out there. I also feel like what I previously released was only given to very few people, and this is a whole new city, with tons of people who are hearing my songs for the first time- so it’s not a big deal right? The songs have completely transformed since I started working with Lance, Trever, and Ryan. The new things we are writing together are such a completely different feeling than I’ve ever felt. I’m writing songs as a guitar player in a band, not just as a solo-songwriter. I’m thinking about catchy guitar riffs, drums, song structure- this is where I belong. These guys have seriously become my family. I’m so excited to pursue this and really work hard with this. 2012 is going to kick ass.
