Tomorrow night we will be filming a music video with Jordan Albertsen. This is a link to one of his short films/music videos he did for a band out of LA. I am so excited to be working with him! There will be snow machines, and fog machines, not to mention I’ll get to hangout in Bellingham for the first time in forever. I’ll post some pictures and a recap soon!
Time to start writing about life again. I had a great time reading my past entries the other night, and I need to allow myself to reflect more often. It is almost the new year. I wrote a song a few weeks ago which perfectly describes the situation I feel myself in currently, and seem to find myself in over and over:
_________________________________________
I walk by your window and I
don’t know what I want to see.
Do I want to relive my past
or do I just want company?
Something comfortable. Something comfortable.
You don’t know you leave a trace
up and down my spine like lacing spiderwebs
invisible to the eye.
I am always the one who walks right through
and it ties me up inside.
Something comfortable. Something comfortable.
Just because you can,
it doesn’t mean you should,
go picking away, picking away at
healing wounds.
Let us grow a thicker skin,
let us let the right ones in,
let us know when to run
and when to stay….
in Something comfortable. Something comfortable.
This is a digital single for a track by my band Cumulus. This song is titled “Little Ghost.” For the last four years I have been playing these songs by myself, but as of 2011 I started playing with a full band and we are finally getting some recordings together to show what we’ve been working so hard on. I hope you enjoy this, and I look forward to sharing more music with all of my friends and family in the future! xo

Patti Smith - Hey Joe (by djails)
“I thought of something I learned from reading Crazy Horse: The Strange Man of the Oglalas by Mari Sandoz. Crazy Horse believes that he will be victorious in battle, but if he stops to take spoils from the battlefield, he will be defeated. He tattoos lightning bolts on the ears of his horses so the sight of them will remind him of this as he rides. I tried to apply this lesson to the things at hand, careful not to take spoils that were not rightfully mine…” Patti Smith (Just Kids)

I wrote this last week and finally felt like I was able to put words to all of the anxiety/loneliness/unsettled feelings I’ve been having. It is so crazy how relieving it can be to write those feelings out, searching for the perfect words. Once the words are released I feel released from the pain too.
“I’ll sit here and watch you make the same mistakes I did.
I never meant it to end like this.
Never trust a person who doesn’t know,
who doesn’t know how to be alone.
They will wander from bed to bed,
until they make your head their home.
All I ever wanted for you was to feel content
in your own bones.
Here is a coat of armor,
don’t let anybody in.
Right now love is a game
that you do not want to win.
If you don’t believe me, go and see for yourself.
There is always room for more on the heart collector’s shelf.
They will take you,
they will take you away.
When you feel the cold,
and see the fog, you’ll know,
that you are still breathing-
your heart it keeps on beating.
Adjust your eyes to see in the dark,
we are alone in this together.
Alone is not forever.
Adjust your eyes to see in the dark,
we are alone in this together.
Alone is not forever. “
